Hey, thanks for linking to my blog, The Trout Also Rises. I'm not as diligent about posting as I'd like to be...

Saw your musings about fishing in the canyons near Ridgecrest. Nada, sorry to say. Just game birds and rabbits. There is some fishing at the Canebreak Eco Reserve on the way to Lake Isabella, though. Probably browns at that low elevation.

Hey Thomas,
I really enjoy reading your blog, even though you don't post all the time.
Yes, I didn't think there was too much fishing to be done in those canyons. Especially since we've had so many dry years in a row. What little streams might have been flowing are probably dried up by now. I'll check out Canebreak though. For now, we're just fishing Cachuma and a few streams closer to home.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi Iris,
Have enjoyed your blog. And thanks for linking to mine. Afraid I'm from the south of England, though, not glorious Scotland. That was some misinformation from Tom Chandler!

Keep up the good work. Helps us get through the close season over here.

Cheers

Hi Iris. I've been reading your blog for a while before deciding to write. You sound just like your father. You have his words, his cadence, his tone.

I knew him really well a very long time ago -- before you were born. As soon as I saw photography and fishing, I knew who you were (I was actually looking up trout fishing sites for my brother who was coming out to visit when I found your blog.)

I am glad your dad lived long enough for you to know him. You seem just like the kind of daughter he would have. I never met your mother but I know that Gary loved her.

I makes me sad to think of him gone, but I am glad you are here to tickle those raskily fish ;)
